OPPORTUNITY: A blank slate, The University of Arkansas Rec Center had just been newly renovated, creating these perfect, large, blank walls, begging for graphics to be placed upon them. Although the project was halted before fabrication, it was a great experience being able to collaborate with the architects (Hufft, based out of Kansas City) and work alongside the Rec Center team to develop graphics that would motivate and enhance the tone of the space for the student population at UArk.

The Rec's Mission
While working on this project I communicated directly with the client and presented multiple iterations of design concepts for their two main common spaces on the 2nd and 3rd floors. A large focus was to make sure that the tone aligned with the Rec's mission, which was to be a safe place and community for all students and athletes.

Inclusivity, diversity, and school spirit were at the forefront of design decisions, which came through in photographs, symbols, and icons, such as the Arkansas state outline and school mascot, Sooie Pig.

Considering budget and materials, I worked with local fabricators and UArk Facilities to decide that it would be best for a majority of the graphics to be painted, with only one printed on wallcovering, shown below.
